Effective date: August 23, 2026
These terms cover Hitosuji, an iOS app made by weuse, a sole proprietorship in the Republic of Korea. Using the app means you accept them.
What the app does
You photograph a page you have marked, the app reads the marked sentence, and you turn it into a card or a short video. Everything is processed on your phone.
Free and paid
The app is free to use. Cards and videos are unlimited, and a small Hitosuji watermark sits in the corner of each card. Only handwriting conversion has a daily allowance of three.
A Hitosuji subscription removes that watermark or replaces it with a short line of your own, and lifts the handwriting limit. It renews automatically.
- Two plans are offered, monthly and yearly. The price and the period are shown on the purchase screen before you buy, in your local currency.
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation.
- The subscription renews automatically unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
- Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
- Manage or cancel in Settings > your name > Subscriptions on your device, or at apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel it.
- Any unused part of a free trial, if one is offered, is forfeited when you buy a subscription.
Purchases are handled by Apple. Refunds are Apple's to give, not ours. Ask at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Restoring a purchase
Open Settings inside the app and tap Restore purchases. Your subscription follows your Apple Account, so it works on your other devices.
Your content, and other people's
The sentences you photograph belong to their authors and publishers. The app is for personal use: keeping a passage you liked, and sharing a short quotation the way a reader normally would. Cards carry the source, which is both good manners and, in most places, part of what makes a quotation fair.
You are responsible for what you photograph and share. Do not use the app to reproduce a substantial part of a book, and do not use it for anything unlawful.
Cards and videos you make are yours. We claim nothing in them and never see them.
What we do not promise
The app reads printed text well but not perfectly, and handwriting less well than print. Book search depends on databases we do not control. The app is provided as it is, without a warranty that it will be uninterrupted or error free.
To the extent the law allows, weuse is not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for intent or gross negligence, and nothing here reduces the consumer rights your own country gives you.
Ending this
You can stop at any time by deleting the app. We may stop offering the app or a feature, and if a paid feature ends we will handle any remaining paid period fairly.
Changes
If these terms change, the effective date at the top changes with them and the change is listed below.
